Thermostat
If the thermostat is not working properly, it cannot signal the AC unit to turn on. A blank thermostat could simply be becaused by dead batteries, a tripper breaker, or a blown fuse.
Filters
When was the last time the filter was change? A clogged filter will cause the unit to run harder and longer, increasing the wear and tear on your system. Purchase a good quality, pleated filter and replace monthly, especially if you have a lot of foot traffic or pets.
Tripped Breaker
Various situations, such as a lightning storm, can trip your AC’s circuit breaker. Check your breaker box and reset as needed. Don’t forget that your unit may have a disconnect switch by the outside condenser unit or in the AC closet near the indoor unit. If this problem continues to happen, contact us. This could be a sign of a more serious problem which is causing the unit to overheat.
Maintenance
AC units require maintenance just like your vehicle. Drain lines and condenser coils need to be cleaned regularly, and filters need to be changed monthly. If you are not comfortable doing the maintenance yourself, our technicians would be happy to perform preventive maintenance for you.
